Beach Babies

We are taking an anniversary Memorial Day trip to the beach house in Ventura - we came up here last year with the twins when they were 5 weeks old. My mom and I drove up in the Matrix and Ryan rode his motorcycle up. One year later the motorcycle has been sold and the four of us drove up in our big family Highlander.....how quickly things change! ha ha

One year ago....

1 year later we've got one walker, one crawler, two big eaters....and both are quite adventurous and independent as we found out again this weekend at the beach!

 Maia sees a dog too...."Dog" may be one of their first words. "Da" is used for many different things but dog is definitely one of them.

Birthday Celebrations #2

We also went to Carlsbad for our birthday.......thanks Uncle Ammon for all the great pics of the whole weekend and thanks Mom for the fun day!

 You know those babies that won't leave their mom's side? Maia is not one of them.

I think JD's face is more pleasantly fairy and Maia's face would do better as the gnome in this one.

1st Birthday Celebrating Part 1

This is my best attempt at narrowing down my favorite pictures from Saturday's birthday party! We let each baby have their own cake, JD was interested for about 2 minutes before he wanted to get back to playing. Maia would have eaten the whole thing if we let her - after about 20 minutes we got worried she WAS going to eat the whole thing and distracted her with a bottle of milk before taking the remaining mashed up portion away. :-)

We did a little circus theme with family and a few close friends.
